Adnan Zaylani is currently Deputy Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia, overseeing the financial markets and development of the financial sector. He began his career at the Bank as a foreign exchange trader and portfolio manager in 1994, managing international reserves and public sector funds, and advising the government on cashflow management and debt strategy. He became Assistant Governor in 2016 and has overseen various portfolios including financial markets, investment, foreign exchange administration, currency management and development sector.

Adnan is the Chairman of the Financial Markets Committee and also a member of the Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee and Financial Stability Committee.

He holds a Master's in Public Policy from the University of Oxford as well as a Masters in Global Market Economics, and a Bachelor's degree in Economics, both from the London School of Economics, UK.
