Dato’ Mohammed holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from the University of Newcastle, Australia, and completed the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard Business School in Boston. He is a Fellow Chartered Banker of both the Chartered Banker Institute and the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers

He spent 31 years with the Maybank Group, serving in key senior roles including Head of Corporate Banking, Head of Commercial Banking, Head of Malaysian Operations, Managing Director of Aseambankers Malaysia, and Executive Director (Business Group). His last position prior to retirement in 2008 was Deputy President/CFO.

He has held multiple chairmanships, including Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Keluarga Berhad, Gamuda, Danajamin Nasional, and Quill Capita Management. He also served on various corporate boards and chaired the Corporate Debt Restructuring Committee under Bank Negara Malaysia. He was also Professor of Practice, INCEIF University, Malaysia.
