Biography
Mr. Mohamed Hussain Maniku is the Chief Executive Officer of the Capital Market Development Authority (CMDA), appointed in January 2021. With over four decades of public sector experience, he brings extensive expertise in financial regulation, institutional development, and strategic governance. Under his leadership, CMDA has focused on expanding access to capital markets and promoting greater participation of State-Owned Enterprises.
Before joining CMDA, Mr. Maniku served as the founding CEO of the Maldives Pension Administration Office (2009–2019), where he oversaw the establishment and growth of the national pension system. He also served as Managing Director of the State Trading Organization (1993–2008), where he led diversification initiatives of the Company. Mr. Maniku also served as the Maldivian Ambassador to the United States. He began his career at the Ministry of Finance, rising through various senior positions.
Mr. Maniku holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the American University of Beirut.
