Biography

Robert Troy was appointed as Minister of State at the Department of Finance with special responsibility for Financial Services, Credit Unions and Insurance in January 2025. In this role, Minister Troy oversees Ireland’s financial services sector, which will include the drafting of the Irish Government’s next strategy on the international financial services sector, Ireland for Finance. He is also responsible for insurance reform, as well as the ongoing development of the Credit Union sector.

He previously served as Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment with special responsibility for Trade Promotion, Digital and Company Regulation Employment and Retail, from July 2020 to August 2022.
