Dr. Simon Liu is Chief Data and AI Officer at TrustDecision and an Adjunct Associate Professor at Nanyang Technological University (NTU). He is a recognized leader in applied artificial intelligence, specializing in fraud prevention, payment risk, anti-money laundering, and credit risk analytics across digital platforms.

Previously, he served as Senior Vice President and Head of Data Science for Risk and Security at Lazada, leading large-scale AI initiatives across Southeast Asia. Earlier in his career, he was Director of AML Modelling and Analytics at Scotiabank in Canada, where he pioneered the country’s first AI-powered model for human trafficking detection.

Dr. Liu is the co-author of Analytic Learning Methods for Pattern Recognition and the author of the forthcoming book AI and Machine Learning for E-commerce Risk Management. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto and actively promotes academic–industry collaboration in responsible and impactful AI innovation.
