Vocalink, a Mastercard company , EVP, International Real-Time Payments
With over 20 years’ management experience within the UK payments and consultancy industry, Ian has witnessed first-hand the transformative impact that real-time technology has had on UK payments over the past ten years. His career to date can be defined by three core areas of expertise: Information Technology, Operations and Payment Innovation.
Having held the role of Head of Information Systems for Barclaycard's Merchant Acquiring business, as well as IT Director for LINK Interchange Network Ltd, Ian became Director of Operations at Vocalink in 2007. By 2010, his was Chief Operating Officer and later became Managing Director for the Card Transaction Services side to the business - a role which saw him responsible for Vocalink’s Link Scheme processing and AMS driving businesses.
In May 2017, Vocalink became a Mastercard company and Ian embarked on a new role within global business development, sharing our Real-Time Payments expertise and enhanced product offering with international markets. This experience at the coalface has provided Ian with a unique insight into how markets are looking to adopt, and make the best use of, real-time technology. It is this experience that positions him well for his new role as Executive Vice President, International Real-Time Payments. Leading Vocalink’s International Sales business, Ian continues to play a pivotal role in making real-time payments a reality for economies around the world.
