Sriram's 28 years experience in financial services comprises 20 years in Citibank, 5 years in Bharti Airtel and a year in IDFC bank. The Citi experience was rich in exposure to credit cards, running a JV company, and managing treasury. He ran the digital businesses for Citi, from 2000 in India and from 2005 in Japan.
Sriram returned from Japan to launch and scale Airtel money as a early mover in payments in 2010. In 2015, IDFC, the newest universal bank, provided an opportunity to build strategic alliances with telcos, transport cos etc while developing a digital payments & lending stack.
Sriram joined Amazon in Jan 2016. His team seeks to create the best payments experience and access to financial services for customers and merchants in India by 2020. He is qualified as an engineer from IIT Delhi and an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad.
